Keep butter soft, fresh, and spreadable—naturally.
This wheel-thrown butter crock is a traditional, time-tested way to store butter at room temperature without refrigeration. By sealing the butter under a small amount of water, the crock creates an airtight barrier that helps keep butter fresh while staying perfectly spreadable for everyday use.
Each butter crock is handcrafted in my studio, making every piece one-of-a-kind. Designed to live beautifully on your countertop, it’s both functional and timeless—perfect for daily toast, fresh bread, or entertaining.
• Keeps butter soft and spreadable
• No refrigeration needed
• Handcrafted stoneware
• Food safe glaze
• Holds approximately ½ cup (1 stick) of butter
• Each piece is unique
A simple, old-world solution for modern kitchens.
How to Use Your Butter Crock
-
Soften butter to room temperature.
-
Press butter firmly into the lid portion of the crock, removing air pockets.
-
Fill the base with cold water until it reaches about ½ inch (1–1.5 cm) below the rim.
-
Place the butter-filled lid into the base so the butter sits below the water line.
-
Change the water every 2–3 days (daily in very warm kitchens).
Tip: Keep the crock out of direct sunlight or near heat sources.
